Part of the Explore and Expose 2020 project

Grab your camera and join artist Duncan Wright for a photography field trip in the Shire of Mundaring. Meet at the beautiful Boya Quarry and learn to photograph the landscape with the site’s challenges of light and scale. No matter the type of camera you’re using, Duncan will show you how to prepare for and capture a great image. He can also help with any technical questions you may have.

This workshop is supported by Shire of Mundaring, the Mundaring Camera Club and NEAMI National. Participants who are residents of Shire of Mundaring or City of Swan are encouraged to enter their photographs taken into the annual Explore and Expose photography competition.

Design and carve your own custom rubber stamps for printing seasonal gift wrap, tags, and cards in this 3 hour workshop with Phoebe Todd-Parrish. No previous relief printing experience is required, just come with your ideas, holiday cheer, and any extra things you’d like to print on for the holidays. Kraft Paper, cardstock, rubber for stamps, tools and inks included.

Join Surface Tension artist Andrea Vinkovic to hand build your own sculpture in clay. Andrea’s ceramic sculptures are inspired by microscopic images of pollens, planktons, molecules and natural structures. Her skill and love of this natural ancient material is sure to have you exploring your ideas in 3D.

Works will be glazed and fired by MAC technician (choice of clear or white) and available for collection 17 – 22 December.

Create a painting of your pet with local artist Alastair Taylor. Bring along an image of a furry friend and Alastair will show you how to capture their personality in acrylic paint. This 3 hour workshop for teens will cover portrait compositions, colour mixing and brushwork. A selection of primed boards and paint will be supplied.

Join artist and designer Grace Hummerston to make your own bangles and earrings from recycled Perspex. Learn to use a dremel to shape, polish and engrave your jewellery, then paint your pieces with fine brushes and artist quality paints to create your unique wearable art works.
