Explore stitch format and design with artist Louise Wilde Cook. Participants will learn how to design and present words and phrases using a variety of stitches and techniques such as appliqué and couching. Working through a number of individual and collaborative stitching exercises, new skills will culminate into the textured stitch of a single word. Be sure to have a meaningful word or phase in mind on the day.

Draw and print your own self-portrait these school holidays with Jane Button. You’ll learn to transfer your portrait to a foam block for printing, bringing your drawing to life with ink. In this workshop you will use a mini printing press to make an edition of three prints to take home.

Using acrylic paint, we’ll make marks and patterns onto a gelli plate base, from which you can press and peel away your artwork! Grab your camera and join artist Duncan Wright for a photography field trip in the Shire of Mundaring. Meet at the Mundaring Weir and learn to photograph the natural and built landscape. No matter the type of camera you’re using, Duncan will show you how to prepare for and capture a great image. He can also help with any technical questions you may have.

This workshop is supported by Shire of Mundaring, the Mundaring Camera Club and NEAMI National. Participants who are residents of Shire of Mundaring or City of Swan are encouraged to enter their photographs taken into the annual Explore and Expose photography competition.
