'One Sky, Many Stories' Concert with Warren H. Williams

  • Midland Junction Arts Centre - Auditorium 276 Great Eastern Highway Midland, WA, 6056 Australia (map)

Be transported to a starry night in outback Central Australia, through the magical combination of stories from the sky, with live acoustic music from Indigenous musician Warren H. Williams with Wyana O’Keeffe and Andie White from The Griffyn Ensemble.

What do the stars mean to you? Since 2012, The Griffyn Ensemble have been performing music inspired by the Southern Sky, and recently travelled to Tennant Creek to compose stories and song with indigenous songwriting legend Warren H. Williams. Warren H Williams will join Griffyn Ensemble percussionist Wyana O’Keeffe working with students to create new music that is inspired by local stories of the stars. This culminates in a free performance at Midland Junction Arts Centre showcasing music from Estonia, Tennant Creek, Perth, astronomy of the Southern Sky, and stories from across the country.

Featuring some of Australia’s most innovative leaders in chamber, folk, opera, new music, and composition, The Griffyn Ensemble seamlessly cross pollenate between genres of music and other artforms to create a unique experience of live performance, inspiring audiences and communities to question the world around us. Warren H Williams is an ARIA-nominated Arrente singer, musician, and songwriter, and previous recipient of the NAIDOC Artist of the Year.
