Worn Out Worn Art Wearable Art Parade

For thirteen years the Worn Out Worn Art (WOWA) Wearable Art Project has captivated audiences, showcasing exceptional wearable art designed by local primary and secondary school students and artists. In 2018 WOWA is being re-invented, celebrating creativity and sustainability with a wearable art exhibition complimented by the annual parade.

The WOWA Parade is a culmination of a year-long series of workshops where young people and artists from across the Eastern region have pushed the creative boundaries to create dynamic wearable art from recycled and found materials. This year more than 40 performers are expected to parade their incredible sculptures for the body constructed from discarded, unloved, organic and mechanical parts, which will be complimented by creative face paint and hair do’s.

Talented young jazz guitarist Todd Byrom-Carter and soulful vocalist Sinead O'Hara are joining forces as Eerie Anne to open the parade with their exceptional and unique take on classic old and new hits.

Join us for what promises to be an especially colourful and festive parade held for the first time this year in the historic Midland Junction Arts Centre!

Presented by Mundaring Arts Centre and Act-Belong-Commit Elevate Arts, the Worn Out Worn Art project provides an outlet for creativity and self-expression. The project encourages young people to think outside the box exploring ideas, concepts and materials in innovative and unconventional ways.
