Master coloured pencils in just three hours with exhibiting artist Marie Haass. Marie will work through a variety of demonstrations and exercises to reveal the incredible qualities of this humble medium. New skills will culminate into a resolved artwork finished on the day. Participants are asked to bring in a sentimental object as well as an A4 black and white photograph/photocopy of the object to reference.

Draw and print your own self-portrait these school holidays with Jane Button. You’ll learn to transfer your portrait to a foam block for printing, bringing your drawing to life with ink. In this workshop you will use a mini printing press to make an edition of three prints to take home.

Explore the creative and colourful world of gelli plate printmaking these school holidays with Leanne Bray. Using acrylic paint, we’ll make marks and patterns onto a gelli plate base, from which you can press and peel away your artwork! Leanne will give you the recipe to make your own fun gelli prints at home.

Celebrate Mundaring’s agricultural landscape in this acrylic painting workshop with Alastair Taylor. Bring along your own reference image of an animal of your choice and Alastair will show you how to capture the scene in acrylic paint. This workshop will cover colour mixing, composition, brushwork and Alastair’s wet palette method with acrylics. A selection of primed boards and paint will be supplied.

Join local artist Harrison See for a live stream from his studio as he starts an original oil painting. Perfect for beginners, in this 90 minute demonstration you will learn about Harrison and his unique approach to a blank canvas. You’ll tour his studio, learn about his chosen tools, paints and mediums and see works in progress before getting started on a new piece. Ask questions live and get the intel you need to work from home. Harrison’s step by step workbook will be provided after the demonstration.

Celebrate the work of Hans Arkeveld, one of WA’s foremost and most influential artists during his retrospective exhibition Homo Eclectic in this 4-hour drawing workshop with Ben Joel.

Using Arkeveld sculptures as subjects, this workshop will be directed towards:
- Drawing as an aid to the development of visual inventiveness.
- Boosting the skills and strategies of seeing, in order to draw with efficiency, speed, observational accuracy and purpose.
- The development of drawings as artworks in their own right.
