We were honoured to have two fantastic women present talks and workshops on Saturday 9 July as part of the Machines & Makers exhibition.
The first was a talk by Susie Vickery about her work especially in Nepal, Kathmandu, Mumbai, Turkey and Mexico. Susie has worked with ethnic tailors, women and refugee groups - astounding work and amazing outcomes - we were left speechless.
The other fabulous lady is State Living Treasure, Nalda Searles, who patiently taught us how to make string from old and discarded cloth - so meditative. Look out for balls of string from enthusiastic participants rolling your way!
Both Susie and Nalda's works are currently on display in Gallery 1 as part of Machines & Makers.
