LIFE IN MOTION
PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION & EXHIBITON | 2024
Exhibition open Sat 17 Aug 2024 – Sun 9 Mar 2025
Boya Library and Community Centre, corner of Clayton Road and Scott Street, Boya.
“Life is motion and motion is concerned with what makes man move… ambition, power, pleasure... The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that 100 years later when a stranger looks at it, it moves again because it is life.”
- William Faulkner, 1962
Building on their community partnership, Mundaring Arts Centre Inc., Mundaring Camera Club and Shire of Mundaring are pleased to present Life in Motion, the 2024 photography competition and exhibition.
Life is constant, and so is motion. In our communities, our environment, within ourselves, the momentum of life is ever present. How does one capture this energy, and in what way can we communicate and capture motion through the lens?
This year, Life in Motion invited photographers to submit new photographic works that capture and communicate a unique and individual expression of identity, play and imagination - works that communicate the very movement of existence.
Works nominated for sale are available unframed through Mundaring Arts Centre. All photographs will be $80 with all proceeds paid to the photographer.
