Artist Angela Stewart exhibited a series of expressive charcoal drawings exploring man’s relationship with horses during World War I as part of the Horse Drawn exhibition on show in the East Gallery of the Midland Junction Arts Centre. In her workshops on Sunday 10 September participants then had the opportunity to experiment with charcoal and mixed media on paper, working in both traditional and experimental approaches to create new works focusing on the significance of horses and their role in history.
A small foal was also used as a reference during the workshops with many creative works developed in the Auditorium at the Midland Junction Arts Centre.
Angela’s sessions were then followed by ‘drop in’ workshops where people of all ages were able to draw the foal and experiment with the mixed media available.
