PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY Shire of Mundaring
This annual environmental art project provides an opportunity for primary school children in the Shire of Mundaring to engage with local and global environmental issues and promote a positive message about the importance of protecting the earth.
THINGS WITH WINGS
This project, presented by the Shire of Mundaring and Mundaring Arts Centre, has engaged local primary schools in the investigation of positive solutions for improving our environment for the past 18 years, providing a forum for young people to be creative and share their views, whilst learning about environmental issues.
This year’s theme; Things With Wings; The Pollinators – Birds, Bats & Bees has provided primary school students with an opportunity to explore and understand the vital role pollinators play in sustaining our local ecosystems and what we can do to protect them.
Close to 1,000 artworks were received from 12 primary schools: Mundaring, Helena College, Sawyers Valley, Mount Helena, Pickering Brook, Parkerville, Chidlow, St Anthonys, Darlington, Bakers Hill, Swan View and Treetops Montessori with students translating their learnings into thoughtful designs. Explore and vote for your favourite entry at Mundaring Arts Centre until 22 December as part of the annual Mundaring Environmental Art Project exhibition.
